body fat test

We have had a lot of people inquiring about getting their body fat tested. We have the ability in house to do a standard body fat test, measure your waist, neck, etc. however, we have teamed up with Body Fat Test of SW Florida to bring a much more quality test and a printout of your current:

  • lean body mass
  • total body fat %
  • resting metabolic rate

What does all this mean? Well, if you know what your lean body mass is (your body with just bones and muscle) you can determine your resting metabolic rate. This is important to know because then you can accurately measure and know how much food you need to be consuming on a daily basis based on your fitness goals.

For example: Take a male, who weighs 200lbs. If this man had 20% body fat, or 40lbs, that would leave your lean body mass at 160lbs. Meaning, that yes, the SCALE may tell you that you weigh 200lbs, but your body is actually 160lbs. Therefore, you can see that the dietary needs of a 160lb vs. a 200lb man are going to be different.

We don’t feed the body that we have, we need to feed the body that we WANT to have. If you’re already there, awesome, if not, this would be a good opportunity for you to find out as accurately as possible what you need to be doing.

So, this coming Wednesday, 10/28, from 9am – 12pm, the folks at Body Fat Test of SW Florida will be here with their truck to measure any of you that wish to sign up. The cost for this service is $50 and is paid directly to them. The link to sign up is

I know that not everyone can make these times and even on this short of notice. With that being said, we are going to run an 8-week weight loss challenge with this group starting in January. We will provide you with more details as that date approaches, but be ready to lose a bunch of weight (if you need to), or increase your lean body mass (if that’s your goal) along with gyms from all over the state in this 8-week contest starting in January.
